What is NEET?
Students who qualify NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) will get the opportunity to secure a seat at any medical colleges in any state. Qualifying NEET with high scores and securing a good rank in the all india merit list enables students to get a seat into the most prestigious medical colleges in the country.

1. Which colleges accept NEET score:
As per reports and the latest statistics, in India, there are a total of 706 Medical, 323 Dental, 914 AYUSH and 47 BVSc & AH colleges that will accept NEET 2024 scores. There are a total of 23 AIIMS and two JIPMER campuses that also accept this exam score for admission. Some foreign medical colleges also accept NEET for their UG medical programs.

2. How long is NEET score valid:
The NEET results or scores are valid for only one year. NTA releases the NEET cutoff (qualifying marks) and the final NEET answer keys along with the NEET result. NTA will not give a provision to challenge or submit objections against the result of NEET 2024.

3. How many times can I attempt NEET?
According to the regulatory board for NEET exams, the National Testing Agency (NTA), there is no longer any restriction on the number of attempts allowed for NEET exams. Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they wish, provided they meet the eligibility criteria each time they apply.

4. When are NEET exams held?
NEET entrance exam is generally held in 1st week of May every year and the result for the same is given by the end of May every year.

5. Where are NEET exams conducted?
You can choose four centers according to your preference when applying for the examination. In 2024, NEET was conducted in 554 cities nationwide and 14 outside India.

6. What is the pattern of NEET exams

  • There are in total 180 MCQs each carrying 4 marks for correct answer, -1 mark for wrong answer and 0 marks for unattempt question.
  • 45 MCQs for Physics, 45 MCQs for Chemistry, 90 MCQs for Biology.
  • Total time given for NEET exam is 3 Hours.
  • The reference book for the portion of NEET is NCERT.
  • Exam is conducted offline.(pen and paper based)
